ELLEN AND THE HUMMINGTREE free today in the Kindle Store

In celebration of this beautiful Sunday, I am offering free in the Kindle Store, one of my novels for your reading enjoyment.   Actually Ellen and The Hummingtree is better named a fictional memoir.

Ellen takes the reader on a journey.  Sadly her destination is a rendezvous with Alzheimer.   But her many stops along the way in her travels throughout her life are highlighted in this book. These visits will touch the hearts of women who, like me, have shared similar experiences.

Ellen is a woman I came to know well during the writing of my third novel Ellen and The Hummingtree.    She often puzzled me yet she also had the ability to make me laugh and cry.  I grew to love her.  And the more I came to know her I began to realize that she truly is a composite of the many caring spiritual women I have known throughout my life.

Alzheimer is a dreadful disease and Ellen's victimization is a heartbreak.

My writing of Ellen and The Hummingtree comes straight from the heart.  I hope you will love her as I do.

ELLEN and THE HUMMINGTREE    is free today for your reading pleasure in the Kindle Store on all Amazon sites.

Currently #44 in Kindle Store > Kindle eBooks > Literature & Fiction > Literary

This book is also available in paperback format on Amazon and also directly from Createspace.com where the link is    https://www.createspace.com/4743813

Beyond The Blue - a coming-of-age novella - free today in the Kindle Store

There was so much going on today that I almost forgot to mention that one of my novellas, "Beyond The Blue" is free today in the Kindle Store on all Amazon sites.

"Beyond The Blue" is also available in paperback format.

BEYOND THE BLUE is a coming of age novella. 12 year old Anthony Breckenheimer is a clever boy with blue eyes, red hair and like his father he is a little on the chubby side. He lives in the big City of Toronto with his mother, his little brother Ronald and his little sister Leona. His father died a year ago and Anthony misses him greatly especially when he is confronted by bullies on his way to and from school; the biggest and baddest one being Jerry Hasselbergen. One day while in his classroom Anthony discovers a magical window. What he sees through this window and beyond the blue changes his life forever.

This short story is about elder abuse. Andrew is a widower confined to a wheelchair. His son, Tom, has forgotten how to treat his father with respect. An alcoholic, he torments his father and demands money. Andrew is his son's victim but one day he decides enough is enough.

Not enough is being written about elder abuse.  We seem to hear more about this issue taking place in large care facilities.   I believe more attention needs to be paid to the domestic violence and elder abuse taking place in too many Canadian homes.  Baby boomers are coming into their senior years and unfortunately too many of them are suffering abuse at the hands of their own family members.

Andrew's Achievement is free for your reading pleasure in the Kindle Store on all Amazon sites.

This short story dares to stand alone but it is also a part of a short story anthology; one of twelve stories in Social Studies, Book Two -  Shattered and Broken  which is available in both Kindle and Paperback formats on all Amazon sites.   It is also available in paperback from createspace.com and the link to this book is https://www.createspace.com/4713265

DRAMA is available in Kindle format only.

Other recent publications in both print and Kindle format include my first book of poems titled "Poetry From A to Z" and a short story anthology titled "The Silent ...Star Plus a Dozen Selections."

All my books; novels, novellas, poetry, short story anthologies, and shorts that dare to stand alone are available on all Amazon sites. Check out my author's page at http://www.amazon.com/author/audreyaustin

I am currently working on a memoir. This is my biggest writing challenge yet. The title is "Now and Then - All Them Houses". I hope to have it ready for publication early 2016 in celebration of what will be my 8th creative writing anniversary.

I am also proud to now call myself a song writer.  I wrote the lyrics to a song titled "Listen To Love" which is arranged, produced and performed by the very talented musician/singer, Johnny Tyger.

I wrote the lyrics to a song titled "I Followed My Heart" which is beautifully performed by amazing singer, Kim Arnold.   I am honoured that Kim chose this song to be a part of her amazing newly released album "Underneath The Apple Tree" which was recorded in Nashville.

And I wrote the lyrics and the melody to my most recent song which is titled "Too Late".   And yours truly sings this song which is beautifully arranged and produced by my good friend and talented musician, John Cal, sometimes better known as Johnny Tyger.   The title is "Too Late" but at my age I can assure anyone who cares to listen that it is never too late to try something new.  :-)

Keeping It Simple -- Imagine Being Whole

A couple of reviews of Keeping It Simple

It Really is Possible to Heal
 Mary Belanger

This  very well written manual  is by Audrey Austin; a wonderful therapist, author, and teacher.

This book is written in a  sequential manner.  A reader is given a methodical overview of meditation, psychospiritual therapy, and the chakra system.  Learning to open  blocked chakras enables the reader to unite mind, body, and soul.

I am very grateful for Austin who has created such a wonderful resource on chakra meditation.
It really is possible to heal. Keeping it Simple has my Five Star rating. It has changed my life for the better.

A very easy-to-understand explanation of chakras

By Anu

This is a well written book - very easy to understand the concept of chakras and the significance of each chakra. I am yet to try out the exercises for opening up each chakra. But if you are looking to familiarize yourself with the 7 chakras of the Indian/yogic tradition, I highly recommend this book.

From the Author

When I put together the pages of Keeping It Simple my thought was that if this book helps one person in this chaotic world I will feel I have accomplished a job well done.  I was unprepared for the number of people who have come to me and told me that the reading of this book for them has been positively life-changing.   For this I am happy and I am grateful.

Keeping It Simple - Imagine Being Whole is free in the Kindle Store Tuesday, June 9th.

This book of self-discovery is also available in paperback format on all Amazon sites and also directly from Createspace.com  where the link is  https://www.createspace.com/4733596

Ellen and the Hummingtree
by
Audrey Austin

A strong woman of faith, Ellen sits beneath her Hummingtree and talks to God through the yellow quartz rock.

She gifts us with glimpses of her life and shares the import of her personal relationshipwith family, friends and with God.

She allows us to witness her vulnerability and invites us into her heart where we experience her joys and sorrows.

It is hoped you will welcome Ellen into your heart and it is hoped you will enjoy the stories she shares with you in this book; her fictional, magical, mystical memoirs titled Ellen and The Hummingtree.
