"When your needs were not met by those upon whom you were dependent in childhood this feeling of powerlessness grew as you did and some of you have taken this sense of powerlessness into adulthood.
An individual who had this negative type of childhood experience lacks self-trust. If this was the case in your life you will often feel inadequate and, yes, powerless to act in your own best interest and that of others. You may remain dependent upon others to meet your needs yet you will often continue to choose to have others in your life who are unable or unwilling to meet your needs.
A person who experiences powerlessness is often a victim of the whims and choices of others. If this is the case for you then you may often feel unhappy. You may feel there is nothing you can do to change your life situation.
Focusing on the base chakra in meditation may assist you in recognizing and honouring your feelings of powerlessness. Again another crossroads in life is reached. Should you find the faith in yourself, even though it be as tiny as a mustard seed, to make a conscious choice in seeking psychospiritual therapy you will, in this process, find the courage to seek out, discover, and honour your own choices. Through transformational counseling and daily meditation you can change from one who feels powerless to one who is empowered."
