I don't usually watch the Oprah Show but today I made a point of doing so. I'm glad I did.
It was a good show, in my opinion, and stressed to me the value and the importance of walking the walk.
To draw on some familiar old cliches, Talk is cheap ---- put your money where your mouth is. Yes, it's easy to talk the talk ......
A valid lesson in the show today, in my view, is that when we walk the walk and reach a certain pinnacle, there is no guarantee that we will necessarily remain there. The odds are we will not. We may very well fall from grace. And when we do it simply means that we will go deeper within ourselves to find another more level playing field and we will start all over again. And again we will walk the walk...........to the best of our knowledge and understanding.
There is no end to learning unless we choose to close our minds to the lessons.
It is good to remember that even in a plumber's home the pipes can spring a leak.
Even a medical doctor can catch the flu.
Even a motivational speaker can eat her own words and admit that she was simply talking the talk. But while she was doing so, she was not being less than honest because in her heart she believed she was walking the walk ..... and so she was; to the best of her knowledge and understanding.
We all receive those hammers on the head. Some lessons are harder learned than others; some have a higher price tag attached to them.
"Let he who is without sin cast the first stone"
More favourite quotations are, "We can't get beyond what we've never been in."
and "Judge not ..."
Lessons ............. life is just full of them.
And that's what makes life such an adventure!
