BOOKS BY AUDREY AUSTIN: The theme of this blog is creative writing. Any writing on this blog by authors other than myself is by permission of the author. I've written many poems, short stories, novellas, novels, and more. I've recently entered the ;exciting world of books for children. Creative Connections Collaborative Exhibition continues until February 5th and the Arts & Culture Trade Show takes place January 22nd.
Photo by Susan Krupp.... Thank you, Susan.
What a pleasure it was to Emcee the Opening Reception of Creative Connections at the Lester B. Pearson Civic Centre last evening.
Artists including Fran Jensen, Alexandra Gunther, Hilda Ross, Barbara & Jurgen Braunohler, Linda Duke, Frank Spence, Chris Benford, Judy Sampson, Rhonda Rhodes, Paul McIlvried, Linda Finn, Christine Roberts, Lisa Duchesnay and myself spoke to the audience (and it was a wonderful turnout) offering an explanation of the visual and literary collaboration experience.
Although some artists were unable to attend the opening, the creative works of Jane Rowan, Christine Scott, Bernice Makarchuk, and Jefferey Chi, are also on display.
The Exhibition will continue to run in the welcome lobby of the Civic Centre until February 5th with the exception of January 22nd when the Exhibition will be moved into the General Meeting Room while the Arts & Culture Trade Show takes place.
Elliot Lake Writers' Workshop will be a participant in the Elliot Lake Arts & Culture Trade Show. In addition to a free draw we will be offering an interactive "Whodunit" project that we are sure will delight attendees. The poetry of Greg Laurenceson will be on display.
At the authors' table Gloria Hansen, Frank Spence and I will offer a mini bookfair. In addition each of us will contribute a copy of our published works as prizes in the free draw.
Mark your calendar! Saturday, January 22nd, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Hope to see you there.
