The Second Self - a short story - FREE this weekend in the Kindle Store

THE SECOND SELF is a short story about one boy's endurance of extreme abuse at the hands of someone well-respected in the community. So extreme the sexual, emotional abuse that the young boy develops another personality. This short story is not intended for young people to read. It is my hope that this story and others like it will raise the awareness in communities across the country and, indeed, around our world that a child abuser is often an individual that no one would ever suspect. Unfortunately these people do not wear a warning sign on their back.

From the Author

This short story was difficult to write.  I wanted to be explicit in order for the reader to feel even a tiny fraction of the horror that this child endured.   Although this is a fictional story, in life it is true that more often than not the child abuser is someone who holds a position of trust; someone the child believes would be safe be it a teacher, a minister, a neighbor or, as in this case, a close relative.

The Second Self - a short story is free for your reading pleasure this weekend Saturday March 21st and Sunday, March 22nd in the Kindle Store.

The Observers - a short story - FREE in the Kindle Store this weekend

The MacPhersons are a Scottish clan who love to wallow in the drama of their neighbours while keeping just enough distance to avoid involvement. They are a nosy lot. They don’t suspect that everyone on the street is on to them. This couple is blissfully happy in their ignorance; unaware that they are known by every resident on Cordelia Crescent as the observers.

THE OBSERVERS - a short story    is free for your reading enjoyment in the Kindle Store this weekend, Saturday, March 14th and Sunday, March 15th.

THE OBSERVER - His Eye is on the Sparrow

THE OBSERVER – His Eye is on the Sparrow is a story told by three generations of women; Karina, Anna, and Karen. I was privileged to meet these women throughout my NaNoWriMo writing experience in November of 2019. Three women, yet two souls, share their experiences. The story begins with Karina in Bangalore, India. She makes the challenging move to Elliot Lake, Ontario, Canada and is overjoyed when her daughter, Anna is born. Time passes and sadly, Karina dies. Three days after Karina’s death, Anna’s daughter, Karen is born. Anna realizes that Karen is her grandmother all over again. Is this possible? Certainly, Karen believes that it is.These three women bless us with their understanding, knowledge, and experience of the Christian and the Hindu religions. Each woman lives her own separate life; has her own personal struggles; yet family patterns repeat. Karen’s search for authenticity enriches the story and, yes, a beautiful love story is woven throughout the pages.

Available exclusively on Amazon in paperback and kindle formats for your reading pleasure.
