After Words

Everything changed six months ago when John
bought a laptop.  He'd been on his way, as usual, to the movie rental store to rent his daily video.  A new computer store had opened up in town.   John impulsivelywandered into the new store and surprised himself when he put the purchase of
the laptop on his credit card.  One thing seemed to lead to another.   John Rowe, a retired teacher, discovered a whole new world thanks to his new laptop. He discovered the chat room. He enjoyed chatting on-line but now it was time to meet the young woman, Mary.  The widowed John is 78 years old and, sure, he exaggerated a little about his appearance, his age, his life. Did he exaggerate too much?

I very much enjoyed writing After Words.   In the cyber world none of us really know who we are chatting with; that is until we meet the person in 'the real world'.    This is one older man's chat room experience that is sure to leave a smile on your face.
