Today in the mail I received a free copy of John Mitchell's book titled The Boy Who Lives With Ghosts. I am very excited to begin reading this true chronicle of a young boy's life experience.
To show my appreciation for Mr. Mitchell's generosity I have sent him a copy of my latest novel titled Moose Road - a Canadian Tragedy which I hope he will enjoy.
Book exchanges between authors are something I very much enjoy and appreciate. I have done the same with several others; primarily local authors.
I've been busy writing-wise. Recently I entered two short story writing competitions: one, a young adult short story with Writers' Digest and one a fictional short story which I submitted in the John Kenneth Galbraith Award competition.
The local book launch of my most recent novel Moose Road - a Canadian Tragedy will be happening Saturday, September 7th, 2013 at 2 pm in the Gallery at The Centre, Lester B. Pearson Civic Centre, Hwy. 108, Elliot Lake, Ontario, Canada.
Until the launch is over I have not yet started working on what will be my seventh book. Perhaps the previous statement is not totally correct because I do have many thoughts and ideas swimming around in my head and in my heart. I just have not yet decided which book will be next -- but I will soon be ready to put paper to pen or fingers to keyboard, or something like that.
All my books are available on line at http://www.amazon.com/author/audreyaustin in a Kindle format.
Print copies of four of my books are available from me at audrey@persona.ca
I'm happy to say that the first print run of Ellen and The Hummingtree is sold out.
as is the first print run of Keeping it Simple.
Although I haven't decided yet I am considering putting together another short story anthology. I've written hundreds of short stories. My first short story anthology titled The Silent Star plus a Dozen has been happily accepted and I have just two print copies left.
Summer is passing by too quickly. Life is good. Once autumn rolls around short story or novel excerpt submissions will be welcome for publication in Small Town Authors This past year I have been publishing the short story of a small town author on a weekly basis on this site. Commencing September this will be changing and instead each small town author will be featured monthly rather than weekly.
Your poetry is welcome on Rhymes and Times Remembered always. I love to visit this site on a regular basis to read and appreciate the poems written by an amazing group of talented poets.
I am thrilled to learn that one of my poems titled "Mustard on a Hotdog" has been selected by White Mountain Publishing Canada to be published in their anthology titled "Spirits in Stone" and the launch of this book is happening in New Liskeard September 7th.
Hope you are enjoying your summer reading and to my writer friends I say simply, "Keep the Ink Flowing".
