Elliot Lake Writers' Fall Festival, Saturday, Oct. 22nd 9 am to 5 pm; Lester B. Pearson Civic Centre

How wonderful to announce that the Elliot Lake Writers' Fall Festival, now just a few days away, has almost filled the classroom with 18 out of 20 seats already sold for both the morning, Memoir Writing Workshop with Dr. Ross Pennie and the afternoon How to Get Published Workshop with Brian Henry.

Dinner tickets are sold out.

We hope you will come along to enjoy the day.  There is free admission; free entertainment  by pianists Ken Little and Denis Morel plus the mime artistry of Fran Perkins ; free entry into the writers' competition with prizes for children and adults; Buy a cuppa coffee and enter the free draw where some lucky person will win a coffee maker; free open-mike readings all day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the auditorium at the Civic Centre hosted by Master of Ceremonies, Paul McIlvried.

Throughout the day you will have the opportunity to meet and speak with authors from as far away as Toronto, Dunsford, Hamilton, New Liskeard, Cobalt and Thessalon as well as authors from Nairn Centre, Webbwood, Blind River and, of course, the many talented Elliot Lake writers, members of Elliot Lake Writers' Workshop who are celebrating the launch of their first ever anthology titled Penpourri, Anthology of Stories and Poems.

It is going to be a day to remember and we hope you will come along to share with us as we celebrate the joy of writing.  :-)
