Attitude is Everything

Here is something to take into  2019 with you.  :-)

Attitude is Everything   (author unknown)

There once was a woman who woke up one morning,
looked in the mirror,
and noticed she had only three hairs on her head.

"Well," she said, "I think I'll braid my hair today."
So she did and she had a wonderful day.

The next day she woke up,
looked in the mirror
and saw that she had only two hairs on her head.

"Hmm," she said,
"I think I'll part my hair down the middle today."
So she did and she had a grand day.

The next day she woke up,
looked in the mirror
and noticed that she had only one hair on her head.

"Well," she said, "today I'm going to wear my hair in a ponytail."
So she did and she had a fun, fun day.

The next day she woke up,
looked in the mirror
and noticed that there wasn't a single hair on her head.

"Yea!" she exclaimed,
"I don't have to fix my hair today!"

Attitude is everything.

Not all are happy in the Christmas season .. it's okay to feel sad ♥

Beautiful poem by Jeff Foster.  Thanks for sharing it with me, Lesley  ♥

THE JOY OF SORROW
It's simple.
When you're sad, just feel sad.
Don't try to be happy. Trying is exhausting.
Don't push your sadness away.
Don't numb it.
Don't try to get over it.
Don't try to transform it.
Don't even try to 'heal' it.
You don't even need to accept it.
Realize that it's already accepted.
There is already enough room for sadness in the hugeness of your being.
You are the sky, the sadness is only passing weather.
You are vast; sadness is temporary.
You are eternal; sadness longs for a home.
It's simple.
When you are sad, just feel sad.
Bow to your sadness.
Honour it.
Let it rest, and move.
And you will know its holiness.
Its aliveness. Its joy.

My Life in Four Parts

My Life In Four Parts:  Four Part Harmony?  Well, at times.  :-)

Part one:   I'm the monkey in the middle of a large family.  I sort of grow up; get married; have and raise my children, move to New Zealand, and the marriage ends.

Part two:  I'm the fearful one.  Return to Canada; Children leave home.  Relationships come; they go, and I simply scratch my head and wonder.  Back to school; working hard; time with grandchildren then my move to Elliot Lake.

Part three:  I'm the adventurous one.  Bought my home; meet and fall in love with Brian; my sister dies; then retirement; fulfill my longing for writing stories; children and grandchildren move to Elliot Lake; attempt some oil painting; go to church; and life is stable, rewarding.

Part four:  I'm the one who is re-inventing herself.  Moved to a new house; Brian died; my brother died; some friends died and others moved away; sister is ill; and I discover some family are not my friends;   Many losses but Life goes on.  Sometimes I wonder why. Then I need to feed Sam and Lila.  Today they are my why.

I've written many books, all available exclusively on Amazon.   One of these books is titled All Them Houses.   This book has many pages and photos attempting to tell the story of Part One.

Part One was many years ago.    Parts two and three have been lived but not written about yet.

As for part four - well, maybe one day I will write about it but right now I'm too busy living it.

My life in four parts:  Has it been four part harmony?   I've had my moments.

Except for part one, so far I've just written this brief synopsis.  And if you are interested in knowing more about this woman who is once again in the process of finding and re-inventing herself, then check out my author's page at https://www.amazon.com/author/audreyaustin

There you will see many books.  Choose All Them Houses and if you like reading it; good.  If you don't like reading it, then just be glad you didn't live it.  :-)

Life is good and life goes on.

♥I recommend that all women write their memoir. ♥

Falon Echo -- talented narrator of Sara, a Canadian Saga & Ellen and The Hummingtree

Falon Echo is the talented narrator of Sara, a Canadian Saga  available now on Amazon, Audibles, and Itunes.

Another of my books titled Ellen and The Hummingtree is currently in production with Falon and will be released as an audio book early 2019.

Falon is a Canadian audiobook narrator for Echo Audio Productions, who specializes in childrens books, romance and dramatic novels but loves to expand into any other genre that piques her interest. She has done a number of different books in a variety of different genres.

Falon currently has close to 50 books she has narrated and produced available on Audible.com and currently many more in the works. Falon always tries to connect in whatever way possible to the characters being portrayed in the stories she's narrating, but being a young Canadian mom, Falon deeply connected with Sara in, 'Sara, A Canadian Saga', and was able to relate to the story on a different level.

When not working on audiobooks, Falon enjoys singing, playing with her 3 dogs and teaching them new tricks, and spending time with her 2 year old son and husband, going for walks and playing games together.

Merry Christmas!

My friend just reminded me of the past U.S. President's tears at his father's funeral. And his tears reminded me once again that no matter how rich or famous a person becomes it will always be the simple things that matter; those that we mostly take for granted like loving family, good friends, amazing pets, and good health.

Often these things are not fully appreciated until we wake up one morning to discover they are gone.

Authenticity, simplicity, quiet moments, abiding faith, and precious memories are what keep us strong. Not just at Christmas but each day it is good to remind ourselves that the most important things in life cannot be bought and sold. Christmas does not have to be overly commercial.

Enjoy yourself, be at peace, and remember the true reason for the season.

Merry Christmas!
